The game’s story would be about three heroes from 100 years ago: a Goron, a Rito, and a Zora. The three of them actually set out to save Link. Link was actually caught by Ganon while he was trying to save Princess Zelda. So, the three heroes come into play. After 100 years, Link is an old man who owns a shop that sells old things.

Retro Studios came up with more than one spin-off idea for Zelda. At one point, the company was also making a prototype that included the last male Sheikah and Sheik from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Shortly after a bunch of art showed up online, a former Retro Studios employee confirmed that it was something the company worked on for a short time.
