Nintendo applied for Super Mario trademarks | General News | NintendoReporters

[![Nintendo applied for Super Mario trademarks](https://www.nintendoreporters.com/storage/files/nintendo-applied-for-super-mario-trademarks.jpg "Nintendo applied for Super Mario trademarks")](https://www.nintendoreporters.com/storage/files/nintendo-applied-for-super-mario-trademarks.jpg)Nintendo has applied for a few of Super Mario trademarks recently. These trademarks are for Super Mario and Super Mario Bros.

## [](#game-related)Game related?

Japanese Nintendo reports that The Super Mario trademark covers things such as jewellery, stationery, luggage, clothing, and food and drink related. So it seems nothing in the game department really.

The Super Mario Bros trademark covers video game program (including smartphone program), controllers, game cases, game cards, toys, and for providing entertainment. So there is that.

But how can Nintendo NOT have the Super Mario (Bros.) trademarks yet? That is just weird in total.

What do you guys think we can expect?
