Knockout City to become Free-To-Play this Spring

Electronic Arts and developer Velan Studios released Knockout City, a competitive dodgeball game for Nintendo Switch and other platforms, last year.

Velan Studios has stated that the game would become free-to-play in Spring 2022, little over half a year later. Along with this statement, Velan Studios has announced that it would be leaving Electronic Arts, taking up publishing duties and working more directly with the community in the future.

Without EA Originals’ great support, we wouldn’t have been able to bring Knockout City to the world, but now that we’ve gone free-to-play, it’s only natural for us to take over publishing duties and work even closer with our community.” Knockout City has big goals, and bringing publishing in-house will enable us to fully realize our vision for the game’s long-term future. Because this is just the beginning, there’s a lot to look forward to.
