Publisher 2K Games informed **Eurogamer** that this was the case when the publication reached out for clarification.

**A 2K spokesperson said via email**

> Civilization 6 for Nintendo Switch includes support for local cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players via a Wireless Network, It will not have online multiplayer.

Well that kinda suck now doesn’t it. But seeing as for instance Super Mario Party did not feature a full online mode it is really not that weird.

Let’s hope it will come in a future update for both titles because that is how you want to play these type of games.
