The game, however, will immediately be receiving a Day One patch . Luckily SEGA has let us know what it all entails. For example, there are extra added content and it seems the gameplay is better balanced.

The notes are as follwing:

- A 3-stage prequel to the main story featuring Shadow as the protagonist
- Transformation into Super Sonic
- New Avatar outfits
- Improved main menu controls
- Adjusted game balance for certain fights and stages
- Fixed player character reaction when taking damage
- Adjusted some skill abilities
- Test fixes
- Minor bug fixes

We see it happen more often that games have a Day One patch and in general that is not a bad thing. Although we have also seen scenarios in the past that games WITHOUT a day one are not even playing.
