This update would add a new area, new monsters, three more game modes, and other features. This update, which was supposed to come out on June 30, has come out a week early and can now be downloaded right away. In a statement on Twitter, the game’s publisher, Team 17, said that this wasn’t done on purpose, but was instead done to keep player saves from getting messed up.

## [](#the-forgotten-world)The Forgotten World

**A New Area**

Become the first Keeper in history to learn the secrets of the Forgotten World. Dive deep into the lush environments of the Forgotten World and use the skills of your companion to explore what will be the game’s biggest area to date!

**New Creatures**

As you explore The Forgotten World, you’ll meet 9 new ancient Monsters that were thought to be extinct for a long time, plus a new Champion Monster that you can choose to use. With over 200,000 Monster Team combinations, you can keep testing how good you are at building teams.

**New Game Modes**

Use the three new ways to play!

**Randomizer**

All of the monsters in the game are switched around at random. Randomizer adds an infinite number of ways to play Monster Sanctuary again. Once this game mode is turned on, it can’t be turned off.

**Permadeath**

When your Monster is knocked out in battle, it is no longer useful to you. They can’t be brought back to life (except for Phoenix Affinity and Charged Rebirth). You can still use a Monster’s exploration skills even after you’ve killed it. Once all of your Monsters are killed, Permadeath will be turned off and you can use all of your Monsters again.

**Bravery**

This mode lets you play with a small number of Monsters to see how well you can build a team. You’ll start with 3 Monsters chosen at random. You can get a new random egg in each area by opening a treasure chest near the area’s entrance. Other than story events, you can’t get any other Monster eggs in any other way.

All of them can be used together, as well as with New Game+. The Casual, Normal, and Master modes of difficulty will also work with these new game modes! These are not good for people just starting out.

**New Skills**

Not only do the 10 new Monsters have new skills, but all Monsters now have new skill nodes in their skill trees.

**New Keepers of Legend**

Find new legendary keepers to fight and beat in 3v3 tactical battles.

And even more!

QoL Changes

13 New Equipment Items

Level Cap Increase

Monster Sanctuary can be played right away on Nintendo Switch, and the update for The Forgotten World can be downloaded from the eShop right now.
