It is no secret now that Super Meat Boy has been a massive success on the Nintendo Switch even though it was just recently released. It is also no secret that the Nintendo Switch as a whole has been more successful than anyone dared to anticipate.
A lot of people have speculated why this has been the case. The idea of the on the go and home console hybrid, it just clicked with so many people on oh so many different levels. From parents to youths everybody is loving the Nintendo Switch experience.
Enter Team Meat
Tommy Refenes, part of Team Meat has joined the discussion as well. In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he explained why he feels that the Nintendo Switch is what he wanted the Wii U to be:
I was like, ‘This (the Switch) is exactly what I wanted the Wii U to be.’ When we bought the Wii U I thought, ‘This is stupid, I want to be able to take this with me everywhere.’ I’m not the only one who had that thought, a billion people did and that is why the Nintendo Switch is so successful.
Well we can’t argue him there really as Wii U owners we can state that the library was still cool but Nintendo was once again ahead of it’s time. That and the fact they approached the marketing from a totally wrong aspect. It remains wonderful to see how many people are touched by the experience that is the Nintendo Switch.
The best testament to how wonderful the Nintendo Switch is that gamers who had given up gaming due to becoming parents etc are still getting a chance to enjoy their love for gaming.
