In a recent interview with **IGN** Japan, Platinum Games head Atsushi Inaba stated that the studio was indeed interested in self-publishing the Bayonetta IP – just like it was doing with The Wonderful 101: Remastered.

Ideally, this would allow the series to reach a wider audience than before.

However, Inaba then added that this would be more challenging overall, since SEGA and Nintendo both co-own the Bayonetta franchise at this time.

In his own words, Platinum Games would need a lot more than the $50,000 they asked backers for in their Wonderful 101: Remastered Kickstarter campaign.
