If you spent countless hours creating courses in Super Mario Maker on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, you’re going to have to leave them behind.
Missed chance 14212
Nintendo has confirmed that Super Mario Maker 2 won’t allow players to transfer their previously-made levels. Both games are not compatible with each other, and those who want to replicate the same experiences will have to start from scratch.
According to a Nintendo representative, the reason for this is because Super Mario Maker 2 includes a number of features that cannot be found in the original.
And while that makes sense to some extend … it is a real missed chance by Nintendo to not make them compatible. There is an absolute humongous selection of content there. And now it will slowly fade in to history.
