A year after its release though, Mojang announced they will be shutting down Minecraft Earth later this year on June 30th.

In light of this, the developers have released one final update to the title that changes the following:

- Removing real-money transactions
- Drastically reducing ruby costs Including all completed, unreleased content currently in our pipeline
- Reducing time requirements for crafting and smelting
- Replacing unused crafting & smelting boosts with radius boosts of the same level
- Granting a set of Character Creator items to players who sign in between January 5 and June 3

In addition, all players who purchased premium currency for Minecraft Earth will receive a free copy of the Bedrock Edition of regular Minecraft.

Any outstanding premium currency they own will also be converted into Minecoins to be used on the Minecraft Marketplace.
