In de categorie Best Family Game schitteren de Nintendo-titels: Mario Tennis Aces, Nintendo Labo, Super Mario Party, Starlink: Battle for Atlas en zelfs Overcooked 2.

En dan heb je het gehad met alle nominaties voor Nintendo dit jaar bij The Game Awards. Gezien de echte kaskrakers van Nintendo, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate en Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee, nog uit moeten komen, worden ze helaas niet echt meegenomen nog.

Vorig jaar was dit wel anders, toen Super Mario Odyssey en met name The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild vrijwel alle prijzen in de wacht sleepten en dat was totaal geen verassing.

Maar enter de indies. Zoals de uiterst verassen Celeste, die zelfs genomineerd is voor Game of the Year. Iets wat het niet zal winnen maar voor een ieder deze game niet heeft gespeeld. Laat Pokemon of welke game het ook is die je nu speelt los en ga Celeste spelen.

Ook Square Enix’ zijn Octopath Traveler kan prijzen in de wacht slepen: deze wist onder andere nominaties te scoren in Best RPG en Best Score/Music. Kanshebber? Zeker!

The Game Awards zijn op 6 december 2018 en komen naar verwachting ook met een aantal interessante aankondigingen!
