Fire Emblem Heroes was recently updated on Android bringing with it new content and fixes.
However, the iOS update had been delayed.
iOS delay reasons
Many were wondering why the iOS update wasn’t available at the same time as the Android update as they normally tend to be somewhat inline with it’s release dates.
It appears as though Apple’s new requirement for loot box details are the one to take the blame. This particular block has not only affected Fire Emblem Heroes though; it has affected other mobile titles such as Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, The Alchemist’s Code, and some others.
The change specifies to;
Apps offering “loot boxes” or other mechanisms that provide randomized virtual items for purchase must disclose the odds of receiving each type of item to customers prior to purchase.

In all fairness the measure feels ok, because it will lead to more transparency when it comes to what you can expect. Apple’s decision to take the lead in this area may be due to the very real threat that loot boxes may be regulated by the government if the platform holders don’t step in soon enough.
Let’s just hope all game developers take this into account beforehand so we as gamers are not faced with delays.
