The director of Platinum Games, Hideki Kamiya, said that Nintendo has never said anything about censorship for any of the Bayonetta games on the Nintendo Switch, even though there have been reports to the contrary.
He said that they sometimes have disagreements about other things, but that it’s usually about how things are being made. The company made Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, and the long-awaited Bayonetta 3, which comes out in October for the Nintendo Switch.

“I see a lot of people talk about Nintendo when they talk about how revealing Bayonetta is, but the only suggestion we got during the time we worked on the Bayonetta 1 port, Bayonetta 2, and Bayonetta 3 was that Link’s costume in Bayonetta 1 and 2 should have been a little bit more revealing. There was no bias in that part of the game, and I don’t think players should worry that it might have been.
Iwacchi said that Nintendo isn’t just a big, bureaucratic company, and after working with them for so long, I’ve gotten the impression that, even though we sometimes disagree, they’re surprisingly open to direct talks about development and sales.
