Mario Kart Tour – 40.3 million in Oct 2019, Dr. Mario World gets left behind

Mario and friends are having mixed times on the mobile market. According to new data from gamesindustry.biz

On the good side of things

Mario Kart Tour saw a whopping 40.3 million unique downloads in October 2019 alone. Along with existing players, this translated to a revenue of around $31.8 million in the same month.

While this only placed the game as the 28th highest-grossing mobile game for October 2019, the racing game pretty much tripled the earnings of Fire Emblem Heroes – which netted $8.9 million in contrast.

On the bad side of things

Meanwhile, Dr. Mario World has been struggling to pull its weight. Ever since its release in July 2019, the game has only seen about 9.2 million unique downloads. It’s earnings are an even more depressing story – with the game only raking in about $3.6 million in gross revenue to date.

As things stand, it’s pretty clear which of the two titles will be more lucrative and popular for Nintendo to leverage on the the coming months. But that should come as no surprise to anyone …
