Tencent is a party who helped Nintendo to launch the Nintendo Switch in China. Tencent is looking to leverage this connection to enable them to have a presence.
As they want to create one in North America and Europe in regards to making console games designed for American and European gamers.
An anonymous Tencent official told The Wall Street Journal that they want to create video games staring Nintendo characters and get expert advice for making games from Nintendo.

What we want is to expand from China, and one target is console game players in the U.S. and Europe, We hope to create console games with Nintendo characters, and learn the essence of making console games from Nintendo engineers.
Well … don’t we all. But Nintendo has been gracious with it’s IP’s before … so who knows. As long as the Nintendo quality seal of approval has to be passed we are all for it.
