As strange as it may sound, Sonic the Hedgehog has never made an appearance at The Game Awards. However, that may soon change.
A first for Sonic
Geoff Keighley, show’s creator and producer, did a brief Periscope stream earlier and answered questions from fans. One fan asked Keighley if there would be any news about Sonic’s 30th anniversary.
Keighley responded by saying that “yeah, I don’t know, we may do something fun with the movie that’s coming out next year. We’re still talking about that. Maybe we’ll do something fun around that. We love Sonic, so Sonic may make an appearance in some form inside of the show”.
Is it news on the next main Sonic game? No, I think it's too early for that.
Is it a Sonic movie trailer? Definite no. We just got one.
Is it a Sonic spin-off or mobile game? Doubtful, that doesn't seem fitting for The Game Awards.
So, no idea. At all.https://t.co/QebLlKcIoP

Sonic Movie trailer? Or perhaps a tease towards a new Sonic Mania? As long as it is not a new Sonic Forces like title … then we are all going to be happy.
