Doug Bowser – If there is 3DS demand, they will continue to provide software

The Verge published a lengthy interview with Nintendo of America president, Doug Bowser. There’s all kinds of topics discussed in the interview.

Those of you who own the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 2DS are probably wondering what kind of support the system will get now the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite have proved to be this successful.

Doug Bowser noted that as long as the demand is there for the older handheld system they will continue to support it with software “on the front”. What the software is they have in mind remains unknown at this point in time.

We continue to look at the 3DS family, both hardware and games, as a strong entry point for some consumers. And we’re seeing that. As long as consumer demand is there, we’ll continue to provide both hardware and software on the front.  We will continue to support 3DS this holiday and into 2020.
