A Blizzard representative recently teased that cross-platform play will eventually be supported in Diablo III.
However, another rep is now saying the publisher doesn’t have any plans to implement the highly sought-after feature.

The following statement is from the second Blizzard spokesperson on behalf of the entire company:
While we love the idea of bringing our players together across platforms, we do not have any plans to implement cross-platform gameplay for Diablo at this time.
At this time … okay so maybe someone jumped the gun but this makes it sound that it will become available in the future. If that is the case … no harm Blizzard.
