Digital Foundry – What we want in a Nintendo Switch revision

Last year a report from the Wall Street Journal noted that Nintendo is preparing a Nintendo Switch revision which could possibly come later this summer.

Digital Foundry has produced a video outlining the changes they would like to see from a possible Nintendo Switch revision

In short they want

  • 4K output support (upscaling the games to 4K and outputting a 4K signal to the TV to avoid double-upscaling)
  • WiFi quality improvements
  • A better dock to stop scratching the screen
  • Larger internal storage
  • Better kickstand
  • Bigger screen size (smaller bezels)

What we would want?

We don’t care for the kickstand (we use the Satisfye Pro gamer grip), we don’t care for more internal storage (400GB SD cards are not that expensive).

As we are only talking hardware more or less; Well let’s start with a real d-pad, on-board bluetooth support, a dedicated screen protector. And perhaps a portable boost to 1080p? But that is more or less it beside the other points.

Software wise; folders, theming options and local save options (SD) then we would be all set.

But we are not sure we want a Nintendo Switch revision just yet … we are still in the 2nd year of it.

What would you guys want?
