Nintendo Switch firmware 15.0.1 – Rebootless

Every time Nintendo rolls out a new update to the software that powers the Nintendo Switch, the system automatically receives a new version number and, at the very least, a few more improvements over the previous version.

In order for these upgrades to be complete, the console will need to reboot itself.

On the other hand, the manufacturer will sometimes issue an update for the firmware that may be installed without the need to do a restart. These so-called “rebootless” updates are normally quite little in scope, and patch notes are not typically made available for them. Despite this, they are a thing that absolutely exists.

It has been announced that the 15.0.1 upgrade will not need a reboot.

The only modifications made are to the lists of inappropriate terms. A number of new words were included. It seems that the lists were rearranged somewhat in order to avoid inoffensive content from being mistakenly censored un certain languages.
