We have mixed feelings about the news that Nintendo Switch Online: Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) service will eventually stop adding new NES games to the service.
Also noted is the teeny tiny fine print: NES/Famicom games will stop being added to NSO after a certain period of time pic.twitter.com/ncKNHF0Cb9

Certain period of time
Nintendo noted after a “certain period of time”. This was found on a Nintendo Switch Online leaflet being distributed in Hong Kong this week.
This is the first time Nintendo has ever stated new NES games will not be added to the service in the future. We knew it was going to happen, but hopefully this fine print doesn’t mean it is going to happen sooner than expected.
And if it does turn out to be the case … does that mean it will evolve into SNES games? If that is the case … well I guess then we are okay with it happening sooner rather than later.
