In 1.1.1, a new update for Splatoon 3 came out. This patch is important because it changes and fixes different parts of the game. In one way or another, changes have been made to Splatfests, player controls, multiplayer, Salmon Run, and single-player.
Nintendo changed the rate at which Tricolor Battles happen, so from the point of view of the team that is defending, they will happen a little less often than before. But Nintendo says that this is only a “temporary” change.
1.1.1. patch notes
- Splatfests will be changing.
- The chance that a Tricolor Battle will happen has been changed. From the point of view of the team that is defending, they will trigger less often than before.
- Changes to how a player plays
- Fixed a bug that let you use a Squid Roll to jump farther than usual if you did a certain input while charging a Squid Surge.
- When playing for a long time without closing the software, problems like the player’s main weapon not firing correctly would show up.
- When moving quickly, the player could move through the water’s surface or stand on it. This has been fixed. For example, when you use Splat Dualies to do a Dodge Roll.
- Modifications to Multiplayer
- Fixed an issue where connection errors occurred with high frequency at the end of battles due to connection environment.
- Fixed a problem with the Bloblobber where the detection of collisions between the third and fourth blobs of a single volley got very small.
- Fixed an issue where cash and experience were not being awarded in certain circumstances when a battle ended early due to a lack of players.
- Fixed a bug that made it so a player couldn’t cancel matchmaking in certain game modes when there weren’t enough other players around. After a certain amount of time has passed, matchmaking will now stop on its own.
- Fixed an issue in Sturgeon Shipyard in which it was possible to enter the back side of certain drawbridges.
- Modifications to Salmon Run
- Fixed an issue where connection errors occurred with high frequency at the end of jobs due to connection environment.
- There was a bug with Mudmouth Eruption events that caused Mudmouths to move in ways that were not intended.
- Fixed a bug that made some players with the same title not get Rank Points because they were considered “rank supporters.”
- Fixed an issue where continuously damaging a submerged Maws with certain special weapons would cause the game to crash.
- Players were getting stuck in the stage’s terrain, which has been fixed.
- Fixed a bug where, at the end of a battle, the amount of Grizzco Points earned would be shown as less than what was actually saved, making it so the player couldn’t get their rewards.
- Fixed a bug that caused the messages at the start of Wave 3 to change depending on whether or not a King Salmonid would show up.
- Story Mode Changes
- Fixed an issue where, after clearing the final stage, a communication error would occur in the middle of a certain scene and return the player to the square.
- If you clear the last stage again, you can watch the cutscenes that happen after you finish it.
- If this error happened, the last stage is considered to be done, and you can skip it from the pause menu when you try again.
- Different Changes
- Fixed an issue when starting the game for the first time in which the game could get stuck and not advance from the black screen after the screen where yellow and blue ink mix together.
- Fixed a problem that sometimes stopped the game from moving forward when a battle replay was downloaded.
- Fixed an issue in which the game would crash when the schedule was updated while attempting to join a friend.
- Fixed a rare bug that would cause the game to crash when the player went to a shop.
- A player could get a communication error while trading gear at a shop. This has been fixed.
- Fixed an issue where a connection error could occur when buying a weapon. The player would then seem to have the weapon equipped even though they couldn’t buy it. If they tried to join a battle, they would get a connection error.
- Because this update patch is mostly about changes related to Splatfest and fixes bugs that can have a big effect on how the game goes, we put it at the top of our list.
- Please keep in mind that the changes to how often Tricolor Battles happen are only for a short time. For now, there will be a bit more situations where players choose Tricolor Battle but end up in Turf War instead. The settings for Splatfest matchmaking will continue to be changed, and this problem will be fixed. We are planning to implement these adjustments with the new season beginning in December.
- The next patch will focus primarily on balance adjustments and other issues that were outside the scope of the current patch.
- We continue to observe and analyze battle data and are planning to make adjustments at the midpoint of the current season.
