About Unreal Engine

Unreal has indicated on their website that Unreal Engine 4.20 has been launched. In this latest update the focus is mainly on the performance of mobile platforms and the Nintendo Switch. Because of the update there are a lot of improvements in the area of performance and memory.

The update ensures that dynamic resolution and also upsampling of the sound takes place and the controller responds faster to your actions. In the area of rendering and compressing things have also been improved, textures are now better compressed, which reduces the chance of so-called pop-ins.

Some Nintendo Switch games that use Unreal Engine 4 are Fortnite, Octopath Traveler and Dragon Quest XI. The new Yoshi game is also running on this engine.
