DRAGON QUEST I Story:

Thanks to the heroic efforts of the legendary Erdrick, the Lord of the Underworld was defeated and peace returned to the land of Alefgard. But that peace would not last long, as the wicked Dragonlord has risen and once again unleashed hordes of monsters upon the realm. Now you, descendant of Erdrick, must defeat this new evil and save the world from this threat!

The setting:

This story takes place in Alefgard, a kingdom brought into being by the goddess Rubiss. The hero journeys across this land to silence the mighty Dragonlord once and for all. Along the way, he meets endearing characters and faces numerous terrifying foes.

DRAGON QUEST II Story:

Many years have passed since Alefgard was saved by the hero, who was granted the same title as his legendary forebear. The descendants of Erdrick and his line founded three kingdoms that flourished in times of peace. But once again evil stirs, and a sudden invasion of malevolent monsters shrouds the world in darkness. Standing between the armies of evil and their wicked ambitions is a group of young princes and princesses descended from Erdrick. They must now set out and honor the memory of their ancestors!

The setting:

Explore the many locations visited by the legendary hero, as well as numerous new villages, castles, caves, and dungeons.

Over the course of the story, you obtain a ship that lets you traverse seas and rivers and see more of the world.

The party:

The Prince of Midenhall, the protagonist, is joined on his adventure by his relatives—the Prince of Cannock, the Princess of Moonbrooke, and the Princess of Cannock, who makes her debut in this version of the game. This quartet of descendants of the legendary hero Erdrick joins forces to protect the world from evil.

Turn-based battles:

Enjoy the turn-based combat that is so characteristic of this series. Attack with a variety of weapons, spells, and abilities to cut down the many dangerous monsters.
