Story

The Seven Heroes were once lauded as saviors. But the Ancients feared their power and banished them to another dimension. Thousands of years later, the heroes have become legend. You take on the role of the emperors of Avalon, striving to expand their empire—but to do so, you must face the Seven Heroes. To stand against the Seven’s unparalleled might, the emperors and their descendants wage an epic battle that spans thousands of years. By passing down their power and skills, each successor is prepared to rule.

Characters

Choose from more than 30 different classes spanning a wide variety of races and professions.

Each class has unique traits, favored weapons, abilities, and tactics. Characters from any class can rise to become emperor!

A scenario full of freedom

Thanks to the game’s unique storytelling structure, you have great freedom in the choices you make. How you expand your empire—and the order in which you defeat the Seven Heroes—is entirely up to you.

Your actions and decisions will drastically change how the story unfolds.

Graphics

The characters have been reimagined as beautiful 3D models based on the original Romancing SaGa 2 sprites and the stunning illustrations by Tomomi Kobayashi.

All towns and dungeons are now fully rendered in 3D, with redesigned terrain layouts.

Combat

The turn-based battle system has been further refined without sacrificing classic mechanics from the original, such as ‘Glimmers,’ which let you learn new techniques in the heat of battle, and ‘Formations,’ which grant your fighters unique bonuses.

Difficulty levels

You can choose from three levels: Casual, Normal, and Hard (Classic).

Casual offers a story-focused experience, Normal is recommended for seasoned RPG players, and Hard is for those who crave the brutal yet satisfying challenge of the original version.

Music and voices

Kenji Ito, composer of the original Romancing SaGa 2, has crafted gorgeous new arrangements. From the options menu, you can switch between the original tracks and the new arrangements.

All scenes are now fully voiced in English and Japanese, with recordings made especially for this version.”
