In Pokkén Tournament, you’ll encounter Pokémon of all shapes and sizes, giving the battles a distinctive character! Use Pikachu’s powerful electric shocks and lightning-fast moves to subdue your opponents, pummel enemies with Machamp’s moves, or scorch them with Charizard’s searing power.
Pokkén Tournament offers a variety of modes. In Single Battles, you play against the computer. You can choose from three difficulty levels, making this mode enjoyable for both newcomers and experienced players.
In Local Battles, two players face off on the same Wii U. In this mode, one player uses the Wii U GamePad and the other uses a controller compatible with Pokkén Tournament.* This way, each player can experience the action from their own perspective: one player follows the battle on the TV and the other on the GamePad.**
In Online Battles*** you can join Rank Matches and Friendly Matches. In Friendly Matches, it’s easy to fight others, such as players from your friends list. You can also battle someone who has entered the same VS Code as you. In Rank Matches, you earn points based on the result of the battle. See who can rack up the most points or the most victories!
There is also a mode where you can link two Wii U systems using a Wii LAN adapter to experience the action at 60 frames per second on two different TVs. In this mode, each player can use a compatible controller of their choice.
