Pokemon Legends Arceus – Catching Spiritomb

Pokemon Legends Arceus – Catching Spiritomb

Spiritomb is one of the most difficult Pokemon to discover and catch in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and its remakes, needing players to meet highly strict special conditions in order to find it.

Meet Vessa

The criteria to catch Spiritomb in Pokemon Legends Arceus are more simpler, yet no less difficult to achieve.  After getting beyond a certain point in the main tale, the player will be contacted by a girl called Vessa, who demands that they help her collect 108 wisps to lock away an ancient evil. This ancient evil is Spiritomb, and the mission itself is based on the story of its original Pokedex entry.

There are 107 (yeah that is quite a lot) of these wisps scattered around the Hisui Region, with some even lurking inside Jubilife Village.

The wisps light purple, making them simple to identify at night. A good tactic is to relax in a camp until nightfall, then fly about looking for wisps with the Braviary Ride Pokemon. Serebii, a Pokemon fansite, has gathered a complete list of all wisp locations, which can be seen here. When the player speaks with Vessa, she will tell them how many wisps they still need to locate in each region.

Wisp rewards

Vessa will additionally offer the player the following prizes for every 10 wisps found:

  • Oval Stone
    • 5 Wisps
  • Rare Candy
    • 10 Wisps
  • Seed of Mastery
    • 20 Wisps
  • Dusk Stone
    • 30 Wisps
  • Exp. Candy L
    • 40 Wisps
  • Linking Cord
    • 50 Wisps
  • 5 Grit Pebbles
    • 60 Wisps
  • Reaper Cloth
    • 70 Wisps
  • 3 Seed of Mastery
    • 80 Wisps
  • 2 Exp. Candy XL
    • 90 Wisps
  • 3 Grit Rock
    • 100 Wisps

Finally catching Spiritomb

After locating 107 wisps, players can talk with Vessa again in the Shrouded Ruins in the Crimson Mirelands at night. She will offer the player a 108th wisp, triggering a fight with a Level 60 Spiritomb (which can be a shiny) but this is not your only shot, note that it is possible to return to the Keystone, at Night, to hope to come across a Spiritomb again.

Go to the Keystone, at night only, without any need to talk to the Keystone. As it can appear in front without activating anything, It does have a 0.87% chance to spawn!
