The winners of this year’s annual DICE awards were announced earlier after the ceremony that took place.
DICE Awards 2023 highlights
During the event that took place this year, there were many different categories, and they ranged from “best game” to “best accomplishment in plot.” Another award night was dominated by Sony Santa Monica’s God of War: Ragnarok and FromSoftware’s Elden Ring. Both games were developed by Santa Monica Studios. Having said that, there were a few games on the Nintendo Switch that were successful in winning accolades in 2018. These titles include Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, which won the award for best family game, and Tunic, which won the award for best independent game.

DICE Awards
Since 1996, the D.I.C.E. Awards have been given out to honor video games, people, and development teams who have made significant strides in the evolution of the global entertainment software business, which is now worth several billions of dollars. Voting for the DICE Awards is done by members of the Academy’s membership base, which numbers more than 33,000 people. These awards are considered to be the most reputable, regarded, and acknowledged in the interactive entertainment field. Votenet Solutions, Inc. is in charge of providing oversight and validation for the voting process.
Special DICE Awards
The Hall of Fame award is only given to those persons who have made significant contributions to the creation of games that have had a significant impact on the industry. These people are often credited for advancing a certain genre during the course of their careers. In most cases, candidates are designers or creative directors; nevertheless, they may also be technologists, producers, or production executives. These people exhibit the greatest degree of creativity and invention, which leads to considerable product impact on a scale that broadens the sector’s reach. As a consequence, the industry as a whole benefits.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is only given to those persons who have been successful in the profession for a very long period and have achieved a great deal across a wide variety of categories. The recipients of these awards are often persons who have been recognized for their leadership in the corporate world but who are not necessarily engaged in the process of development or creation. These people have been instrumental in bringing about major and good change within the business thanks to their leadership and beliefs.
Those whose work throughout the course of their careers has contributed to the formation and definition of the interactive entertainment sector are eligible for the Pioneer Award. In many cases, these people are credited with the development of a new genre or a method for the application of a certain technology. The winner of the Pioneer Award often has a body of work that is concentrated on a single field of study or a small number of specific topics that are all directly connected to the creation of video games.
The Technological Impact Award is given out to recognize outstanding technologies that have made significant strides toward the development of interactive media. Honorees might come from a variety of areas of the business, such as the software sector, the hardware sector, or the community sector. This list is not exhaustive.
