ESA – All-Digital E3 2021

ESA – All-Digital E3 2021

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) revealed plans for a “reimagined” all-digital event for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2021.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation which led to the cancellation of E3 2020, the ESA has opted to propose E3 2021 be entirely virtual.

According to the plans they shared, it will consist of three days of livestream coverage from June 15th to 17th, featuring keynote sessions, an awards show, and other smaller streams. Playable game demos will also be streamed for preview purposes.

That said, ESA apparently yet to obtain approval from its member games companies to go through with these plans. In addition, the lineup of participating publishers has also yet to be confirmed.

VGC – ESA Statement

In a statement released to VideoGamesChronicle (VGC), an ESA spokesperson had this to say about the event:

We can confirm that we are transforming the E3 experience for 2021 and will soon share exact details on how we’re bringing the global video game community together,

We are having great conversations with publishers, developers and companies across the board, and we look forward to sharing details about their involvement soon.
