ESA – E3 2022 Digital Showcase cancelled

Because of the continuing health concerns regarding COVID-19, the E3 2022 event would be a digital-only presentation. Unfortunately, it seems that the event will not take place at all this year.

The ESA said in a formal statement that the digital E3 2022 presentation will be canceled as well, thereby canceling the event entirely. Instead, the group said that in 2023, it would concentrate on providing a “revitalized physical and digital E3 experience.”

Full ESA statement regarding E3 2022

In 2023, E3 will return with a revitalized showcase that will honor new and innovative video games as well as industry breakthroughs.

Due to the increasing health hazards associated with COVID-19, we already stated that E3 will not be hosted in person in 2022. We’re also announcing today that there will be no digital E3 showcase in 2022.

Instead, we’ll focus all of our efforts and resources on bringing a reimagined physical and digital E3 experience to life next summer. The 2023 showcase will bring the community, media, and industry back together in an all-new style and interactive experience, whether experienced on the show floor or on your favorite devices.

In 2023, we look forward to bringing E3 to fans all across the globe live from Los Angeles.

More information and announcements will be available shortly.
