Geoff Keighley – skipping E3 2020

The Video Game Awards event presenter and journalist Geoff Keighley announced that he will not be present at E3 2020.

This is the first time in 25 years where Geoff won’t be present or presenting. He doesn’t feel happy with the event. And it seems that E3 is just getting hit after hit now.

Nintendo themselves have yet to announce their plans for this year’s event but at least we know they are going to be present as they have committed to being present in some form or capacity. But should we ask for how long are they going to?

E3 needs to innovate

Let’s face it, E3 is something we as gamers all hold dear and look forward to. But a lot still makes it a show floor. And for someone who has visited his share of show floors, but sadly not E3. They are cool IF you can be present. You miss a ton if you only get the play by play that comes online.

In that regard I think Geoff is right, E3 needs to step up their digital presence and interaction perhaps.

Regarding Geoff’s decision, he has been very open and vocal about everything on Twitter. If you have any questions, ask them to him as he seems to really be there to give honest / insightful responses.
