Many Kingdom Hearts fans may be aware with the plot of the franchise’s canceled animated series, which would have adapted the first game’s events for the big screen. However, a sliver of what the project may have become has now been uncovered for the public, even if it ultimately never saw the light of day!

Animator Seth Kearsley recently revealed that he was in fact in possession of a VHS tape that contains his work on this long-lost Kingdom Hearts animation project from 20 years ago. Kearsley is a skilled animator who has contributed to several well-known programs throughout the years. That development material is currently accessible to everyone as a result of Kearsley’s preservation efforts; it includes an 11-minute animatic of Sora against the Heartless, among other things.
