LEGO rejected Legend Of Zelda, Animal Crossing and Metroid sets

LEGO Ideas initiative allowed regular folks to submit their proposed designs for LEGO sets – which then stand a chance of being officially produced as a LEGO product.

Four set proposals with a Nintendo flavor where in the running. They featured Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing and Among Us LEGO sets. They all garnered enough votes from the community to be considered by LEGO.

LEGO revealed that it officially rejected all these proposals in its First 2021 LEGO Ideas Set Review – opting instead to produce sets inspired by jazz bands and TV sitcom The Office.

No more Nintendo LEGO sets?

Sadly, this means that Nintendo fans will only be able to enjoy LEGO Super Mario sets for now. We can only hope that LEGO and Nintendo eventually consider adapting other Nintendo franchises into brick form in an official capacity.

Which in itself does not seem like a long stretch seeing the recent Nintendo and LEGO collaborations.
