Metacritic announced that it will delay user reviews for video games for 36 hours after the game’s release.
Review bombing has become a major problem on the site particularly with video games. The company says that its decision was based on data-driven research and with the input of critics and industry experts.

We recently implemented the 36 hour waiting period for all user reviews in our games section to ensure our gamers have time to play these games before writing their reviews. This new waiting period for user reviews has been rolled out across Metacritic’s Games section and was based on data-driven research and with the input of critics and industry experts.
Personally I am all for it, you should not judge a game after only investing 2-3 hours. Steam even has a policy for it. So I can see why Metacritic might want to take this approach.
