Metroid Prime Hunters designer would love a Nintendo Switch remake

Richard Vorodi, a designer on Metroid Prime Hunters, said in a recent interview with Kiwi Talkz that he would be entirely on board with a Nintendo Switch remake.

Vorodi said in his statement, which you can read below, that he already thinks the game is wonderful, but that he’d be curious to see how the original title may be adapted to fit into today’s far more complex FPS scene.

The selfish side of me would say no – it’s perfect the way it is – [but] that’s the thing, it’s not my game, it’s the world’s game. It’s actually incredibly flattering; if there is an audience for that game, if there’s a way to usher it into the 21st century or the post-pandemic world, that’d be great. It would be great to see those guys at full resolution, it would be great to see the ponytail swinging… there’s been so many advances. FPS more than any other genre has seen the most growth… it would be unbelievable to see how that game would play today. So yeah, I’m all for it.

It’s worth watching the whole interview if you’re interested;

Metroid bible

In addition to answering the aforementioned question regarding his wish for Metroid Prime Hunters on Nintendo Switch, Vorodi discusses his work on the game in depth. Vorodi adds that Nintendo maintains a “Metroid Bible” with specific advice for devs working on the game, and he also explains how the hunter Weavel earned their name. Back in the day, Metroid Prime Hunters was a very spectacular achievement. The game was one of the first to prove that the DS could handle a full-fledged first-person shooter.
