Since the release of their fantastic 2D platformer, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Moon Studios has been hard at work on something new, and the moment has almost come for them to show off their progress.
We are aware that the company is currently developing an action role-playing game, and they shared some further details about the project with the public. To compete with the highly regarded Diablo series, the game will be played from a top-down viewpoint like those games. But, it is now abundantly evident that in order for the development company to go on with the game, it must first acquire positive feedback from players. On Twitter, the creative leader of the studio, Thomas Mahler, was asked about the planned new project.
Thomas Mahler explains
If we are unable to completely transform the action role-playing game (ARPG) industry with our next endeavor, Moon will eventually lose its relevance in the industry and eventually cease to exist. While it should make one nervous, I find excitement in a task. Diablo, PoE, etc.: We’re going to come after you, and may the strongest survive!
That is not, in fact, how the video game business operates. It’s a company that’s driven by hits.
People will purchase our product if it is of high quality, which will allow us to produce further goods. If our product does not function as expected, there is a good probability that we will not be given another opportunity.
So, you have the option to either play it safe or go for broke!
