The E3 will start again in June. This annual event is planned from 12 to 14 June. Nintendo is of course also going to be present at E3.
Nintendo’s E3 approach
For several years, Nintendo has been taking the E3 somewhat differently than the other major parties. Instead of a live press conference, Nintendo shows a pre-recorded Nintendo Direct. This year is no different and there is also a Direct planned.
This year’s Direct is scheduled for Tuesday 12 June. The Direct will focus on games that will be released in 2018. Whether it means that no games will be shown for after 2018 is not yet known.
Nintendo Treehouse at E3
In addition to Direct, Nintendo also has the tradition to organize various Treehouse events. In these video presentations, Nintendo employees show the newly announced games and tell them more about it.
The Treehouse events will also return this year.
Playable games
Visitors to the E3 can also go to the Nintendo booth, there games like Super Smash Bros will be immediately playable. You can also play games from other publishers on Nintendo.
At another location, the Splatoon 2 world championship will also be played during the E3. This will also be broadcast via the channels of Nintendo.
Following the Splatoon 2 championship there is a Super Smash Bros tournament.
And although the rest is all fascinating of course … a Super Smash Bros tournament means one thing; the game is already very far, otherwise you will not do a tournament on the biggest game convention of the year. We suspect that we can expect Super Smash Bros faster than we think at the moment!
