Rumors have been flying around that Playtonic Games was being acquired by Microsoft, and that they would be working on a new Banjo-Kazooie title.
That in facts would mean a second acquiring for a lot of the staff. Because keep in mind a lot of people from Playtonic Games are ex-Rare(ware) veterans.
Debunking the rumor
Well, that rumor has been officially debunked by Playtonic themselves;
Playtonic Games has released a statement addressing the situation, where they say that “we’re not working on a new Banjo-Kazooie and we remain an independent studio”.

For what it is worth, we are very happy with their strive to stay independent. But we would by lying if we did not want to see a true successor to Banjo-Tooie. Because we are not even counting Nuts & Bolts to be part of the actual Banjo-Kazooie legacy.
Who knows … someday right!
