Pokémon Battle Master Competition announced for Japan

For the Japanese market, the Pokemon Company has introduced a new type of competitive Pokemon battling.

This new event, dubbed the Pokemon Battle Master Competition, would put a player’s abilities in both the video games and the trading card game to the test. The game utilized for this year’s tournament will be Pokemon Sword And Shield, and participants must perform the following tasks in order to qualify:

About Pokemon Battle Master Competition

  • Players will gain points for the videogames by participating in a June online tournament for Pokemon Sword And Shield. Players will require a Pokemon HOME account connected to a Nintendo account to participate, and the format will be single fight.
  • Players will gain points for the TCG by participating in City League and Trainers League tournaments around Japan from April to June. The more points you get, the better.
  • Players must submit a form totaling all of their points from both the game and TCG fights to determine whether they qualify for the finals after finishing both.

More information on the finals has yet to be released.
