To promote the movie’s release, a brand new trailer has been released that gives fans a first glimpse at how the movie will look.

About Pokemon The Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution

In the Japanese trailer, short scenes from the film can be seen, mainly those in which Pokémon are visible. Human characters are less covered. The video starts with Mew shooting from a pool of water and flying towards a mountain. The laboratory where the Pokémon are cloned can then be seen. The last scenes seem to be playing in the arena where the Pokémon finally battle each other.

According to IMDB, the film will be released on November 17 in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Nothing is known about a release in the Benelux.

Mewtwo Strikes Back

Mewtwo Strikes Back was the first Pokémon film and came out in 1998. Mewtwo finds out in the film that he has been cloned to use as a weapon and therefore wants to take revenge. He invites several Pokémon trainers to compete on an island against the best trainer in the world. If the trainers find out that it is a ruse, they try to stop his plans.

It is not the only Pokémon film released this year. Pokémon Detective Pikachu will also be released in May. That is a film with a new storyline and Ryan Reynolds in the lead role as Detective Pikachu. That film combines live-action elements with CG images.
