SEGA announced that the Mega Drive Mini 2 will be available in Japan in October.
What distinguishes this device from the previous Mega Drive Mini console, you may wonder?
To begin with, this edition will feature Mega CD games like the iconic Snatcher and Sonic the Hedgehog CD. SEGA Mega Drive 2 will have 50 titles, which will be announced in phases.Â

So far, the following titles have been disclosed for the system, which will be released in Japan on October 27th:

- Fantasy Zone (Arcade port)
- Magical Tarurūto-kun
- Mansion of Hidden Souls
- Popful Mail
- Shining Force CD
- Shining in the Darkness
- Silpheed
- Sonic CD
- Thunder Force IV
- Virtua Racing
The tower attachment is composed of five components. You will get a Mega CD 2 Mini. Inside is a Sonic CD CD to be shown. There is also a Virtua Racing cart that can be installed in the microconsole itself. There are also spacers included for installing it on the microconsole and attaching the Super 32X Mini attachment.
On October 27, 2022, the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Mini 2 and its Mega Drive Tower Mini 2 would be released in Japan.Those of you wondering when it would be available in the West will have to wait since SEGA has been unusually silent about it.
