The often named “King of the Indies” has achieved another milestone!
Yacht Club Games announces that the original Shovel Knight has already sold over two million times. These are the combined figures for all platforms.
Figures on the Nintendo side
Especially on Nintendo platforms, the knight is popular with the scoop: 55.8% of the sales are on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch or Wii U (see figure below). Of these three, the Nintendo 3DS variant is the most popular.
The Nintendo Switch (Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove) has also done a very good job in a year: with 370,000 sold numbers, it already exceeds its Wii U counterpart.
Shovel Knight originally launched on 6 November 2014 for the virtual retail chain of the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
