Theatrhythm, an IP of rhythm games that Square Enix makes. The IP’s games previously featured characters from the company’s Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series.
Unfortunately, Theatrhythm has been relatively dormant for years. The last video game release was Theatrhythm Dragon Quest in 2015 for the 3DS, and arcades last saw a release in 2016, due to Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: All-Star Carnival.
Enter a new trademark
A major sign has now come to light that Square Enix has not forgotten about the franchise.
Square Enix has trademarked Theatrhythm in Australia and Canada, and coincidentally, it happens to be only a couple of days away from the company’s 40-minute long Square Enix Presents digital presentation.
If they are making a new Theatrhythm game for the first time in 5 years, is not out of the question.Something like it could be revealed here. But untill Square Enix confirms this, it’s all just a trademark.
