The earlier fanmade Super Mario 64 port running on PC’s seems to have lived on. Despite the unauthorized project quickly earning the attention of Nintendo’s ninja’s.
Various modders of the fanmade PC port have made several improvements to it.
These include giving Mario a more-detailed model, and upscaling various textures (such as Peach’s stained-glass window and the game’s paintings).
Beware of the ninja’s
For now, it’s unclear if Nintendo’s legal action against this fanmade PC port will intensify – especially since it’s still at large and in the hands of resourceful modders such as those shown above.
But we hope Nintendo can at least draw some inspiration from these mods for a potential Super Matio 64 remaster. (PS is that remaster happens … Im probably gonna cry … as when I was little I visited the RAI in Amsterdam for a first hands-on back in they dat).
