Geoff Keighley, producer of the annual Game Awards, shared some interesting things during a recent AMA on Reddit.
Last year, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Shawn Layden, and Microsoft Xbox chief Phil Spencer shared the stage for a brief moment at The Game Awards.
Keighley revealed it took months of negotiations to make it all happen, and everything nearly fell apart a few days before the Game Awards show. But with a twist of luck it all came around.
The Game Awards 2018 appearance
It was a dream of mine for a long time — since the first show. I asked all three of the guys personally and they agreed to do it, but it did take months of negotiations to make it happen. A few days before the show I thought it had fallen apart and I was really sad.
But then magically it came back together. Producing these shows is always an emotional rollercoaster, but I’m really proud of that moment, and glad I was able to help make it happen.
We wonder what Geoff has in store for us all this year!
