The Grammys have finally determined that the time has come to add many new categories, including the new Best Video Game Soundtrack category. Gaming is clearly larger than it has ever been, so include this new category seems appropriate. It will be intriguing to watch who wins when the next Grammy Awards event takes place on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 in Las Vegas.
We are thrilled to commemorate these various groups of music makers with the newly formed prizes and amendments, as well as to continue developing an atmosphere that encourages change, advancement, and cooperation. The Academy’s first responsibility is to properly represent the music people we serve, which includes listening to our members and ensuring our rules and standards reflect our ever-changing business.

The GRAMMY Awards include five new categories:
- Songwriter Of The Year (Non-Classical)
- Alternative Music Performance of the Year
- Best Performance of Americana Music
- Best Video Game Soundtracks And Other Interactive Media
- Best Spoken Word Poetry Collection
A new Special Merit Award has been established: Best Song For Social Change.
The GRAMMY Awards’ entry and voting methods have been altered.
