From getting a physical release to its own comic book, it looks like Yooka-Laylee has been enjoying a decent success, which the team at Playtonic just simply deserve.
Playtonic Games shared that the game has hit a ‘one million player’ milestone – all while thanking their supporters.
Wahey! We’ve hit a milestone of over 1 million #YookaLaylee players! Have a massive thank you from all of us at Playtonic, in the form of a fresh photo of the world’s most gorgeous 47-year-old, Kev Bayliss (bottom right), with his colleagues. pic.twitter.com/AZOX7PLw9F

Set in stone
It’s not clear if this milestone is based on total sales, or how the metric was measured / build up. However, it’s still heartwarming to see Banjo-Kazooie’s spiritual successor do so well. Who knows maybe the collect-a-thon genre should not be as dead as people have claimed or even wanted it to be!
Let’s hope Playtonic has more exciting projects planned in the future! I would love a sequel or even something inspired by other former Rare icons… cough Conker cough Bad cough Fur cough Day.
