Statistics have emerged on Twitter which reveal that in Europe over 1,200 games are now available on the Nintendo Switch platform, which is incredible.
Thinking back to the Wii U days where Nintendo had to claw and scratch to get titles on the system, well this is nothing short from amazing. But 1.200 games does not mean all 1.200 are great. We do suffer now from the luxury of shovelware in some instances. And we don’t mean the good old Shovel Knight but some games on the system are just clones from their mobile versions.
Still all in all it’s good to see that the Nintendo Switch is a bit more like the Gameboy used to be … almost everything wants to be on it.
Land of the rising sun
Japan hasn’t fared too badly either as over 800 games have been released on the system. This just goes to show that there’s something for everyone on the popular device from small independent titles to the heavy hitters from Nintendo.
All we can really say is keep up the impressive work Nintendo, and developers!
