Microids has announced that Asterix & Obelix XXXL: The Ram From Hibernia will be the next Asterix & Obelix game. This fall, it will be on Nintendo Switch.
The game will take players “on a journey through Hibernia for a series of memorable brawls where no dirty tricks will be allowed… including smashing your enemies with a barrel.” You can play by yourself or with up to four other people in co-op.

It is the year 50 BC. The Romans have taken over all of Gaul. No, not completely! One small village of brave Gauls still fights off the invaders… In Hibernia, which is now called Ireland, Keratine, the daughter of Chief Whiskitonix, is calling on Asterix and Obelix for help to stop the Romans and bring back her father’s favorite golden ram. For this mission, you’ll be in charge of your favorite heroes and throw Romans into the air with your fists and any nearby objects. Our two Gauls can also count on their trusted druid Getafix, who has been working on a new recipe for a magic potion that will give them more power.
This brand-new top-down, action-packed adventure with your favorite Gauls will bring out your inner Gaul. In this one-of-a-kind adventure as good as a boar stew, you can expect nonstop action, mind-bending puzzles to solve, exploration, and items to collect.
Your trip through Hibernia will take you through six chapters, and each one is full of Romans and things to collect. Try new things! The fight will be more interesting if you use more combo styles and different items. A hit with that barrel sounds great, but why not also try a tree stump?
Stronger together! Asterix & Obelix XXXL: The Ram From Hibernia will have a mode where up to four people can play at the same time on the same screen.
