Dark Souls the Remastered differences

Dark Souls the Remastered differences

Dark Souls Remastered will be in stores on May 25th. It is a reissue of the game Dark Souls which appeared in 2011 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Read here what has changed in this remaster.

The list of changes contains a number of large and a number of smaller adjustments to the game.

Graphically

Something that many people wondered was how the game would perform graphically on the Nintendo Switch. This question has now been clarified. The game will run at 1080p 30fps during docked play.

Switch to handheld mode then you keep 30fps but the image quality goes back to 720p. This is also the maximum resolution that the Switch can handle in handheld. The screen itself has only a 720p resolution.

Online Multiplayer

  • Online will no longer be executed via a Peer to Peer system but via servers of the game.
  • The maximum number of players online has increased from 4 to 6.
  • To play online with six players you will need a special object (Dried Finger).
This item will be found at a different location than in the original. For example, the players have access to this item before.
  • There will be a “password matchmaking” option. This is similar to that of Dark Souls 3
  • If you have a higher level than the one that hosts the online lobby, your level will automatically be adjusted downwards.
  • No healing items can be used in Player vs. Player competitions. This to keep the jars shorter.
  • Players can turn global matchmaking on or off.
  • Players can now prevent “Red Phantoms” from seeing their “White Sign Soapstone” sign.
  • Players can not call up help “phantoms” in the remastered version while they are fighting against enemy “phantoms”.
  • Players will not be matched together if they are too far apart.

Arena

  • There is now a possibility to play 3 against 3. There is also a 6 player deathmatch option added.
  • The Arena fights can also use Password Matchmaking.
  • The places where you respawn will be random.

And besides that …

  • Players can choose how much of a particular item they want to use. In the original you could only use one thing at a time and you had to select an object multiple times if you wanted to use it multiple times.
  • More languages will be available. This number is now the same as in Dark Souls 3.
  • There is an extra campfire in the game.
  • You can choose which actions belong to which buttons.
  • Objects will not be automatically selected when you pick them up.
if you hold down the up or down button, the first item will automatically be selected.

A lot of details with another month and a half to go until the release of Dark Souls Remastered. Are you going to play this new Dark Souls addition when it comes out?
